The thing about letting NPCs care for them comes from the "archive" in the back of my brain. It may only apply to Servo or Bonechilda since GnoServo may have had a "fix" in that either manually augmented the baby's personality or simply worked around the bug.

I know that Inge made a baby that has a nanny who will sweep in to care for it before it is taken away and it will grow up with no problems... but that's also a cloned baby as well as custom NPC.

A heads up -- this thread which started with a new magical skill idea and ended up with NPC ideas has finally been realized.

The NPC's design evolved from a "scullery maid" clone to a full service housekeeper (but not a nanny, sorry!).
Scilla did an AWESOME job

And You can see where we went on for 17 more pages making it at

Wow, the full service housekeeper will do the housekeeping, tending the gardens and repair? That is so awesome. Thank you so much for your hard work Raeven. I really need a housekeeper who is doing almost everyting in and around my sim house.thumbsup

thumbsup thumbsup

This is fantastic!! This is so much better than a "Servo" especially for "period" hoods (probably the idea in the first place)!!

Kudos to every one!!

Thank you so much!!

happy here wub

Dorota is the outcome of a fine exchange, and this idea would have dissolved into nothing, had not Raeven been the hacker she is.

I don't have her (and can't put her in my game just now), but have you looked through the catalog for a station for her? It looks like she may work via a sink shaped station, so look in the sinks or miscellaneous for it. (I'm looking in her iff and see category information, but it's not a word, so I need to look up what the number means... blargh, if only I could find my drive with SimCat on it...)

oh, that is really nice of you to say! Dorota combines some very lovely NPC's skills.

Look what she does to roaches! No ugly can... no toxic... all good for the environment!

cheers smile
