You have not been precise about country and class ;-)
Which country? Which kind of households?

Lathework had been used also in 15th century (which is still high middle ages which I understood was the era you are playing with) and earlier, and colours as well as rope beds also by lower class in continental rural areas (always talking about colder climates), as well as feather filled mattresses and pillows, but I got what you mean.

But you know I am trying to build things for the ordinary people and not for kings and queens smile

However, beds is a theme I will sure take up with.

My first try on beds had been these pelt beds (in Dawn):

oops, i am sorry XD i did not mean to be obtuse, i mean european and it ranges from non-linage semi-nobles to freemen to peasants. mostly self-employed workers of land that they may or may not own XD

also the high middle ages is 1000-1200 XD

Indeed the middle ages are about 1000 years of time and the periods (early, high, late) vary depending on the countries. E.g. in the area of Germany where I live christianity and other cultural influences arrived as late as 1000 because of the thick woods :D

Oh true, I confused "high" with "late", sorry!

yup XD

i've found it to be so fascination for so long, it was definitely an interesting time. by then the people had all these wonderful tools and techniques for eking out a life that was not wholly about survival and thrown up against two large waves of religion on either side which morphed singular tribes into semi-cohesive nations(not to mention art, fashion and metalworking leapt forward all at once)

You indicated you don't want rope beds but perhaps the one Aponee made would be suitable (or you can touch the P sprite up and delete the ropes)

Updated the theme with a sales table for home business, including a coin purse for the collected money:
