Finally I managed to create something new, inspired by beavers (Castor fiber) living nearby, here in my real world smile

Beavers (Castoridae) are the second biggest rodents in the world and come in two species:
the Eurasian beaver (Castor fiber) and the North American beaver (Castor canadensis). In Europe these animals had come close to extinction but are turning back now; to my delight even where I live (see photos enclosed in this zip).

Now you can have them also on your Sim lots! laugh
Just place one or more beaver lodge objects in your ponds and streams and they will arrive and proliferate - just like the Maxis ducks.

Vacation expansion required. Download http://www.doortomore.net/andrasta_dusk3.html

Thanks for your feedback, Raeven, Zosa, Forestbalrog and Thalia!

The beavers behave exactly like the vacation ducks as they are cloned from them. As far as I had observed, they do not always spawn when the objects are placed, so just place beaver lodge items in the water until it works, and then delete the objects you don't need. They can be used together with the Maxis ducks, I have tested it.

Let us go from the ducks and beavers to blind fishies and cave salamanders:
the Hot Spring Caves!

a perfect place for the good old hunter gatherer simmies to pass winter time, bathing in geothermically warmed water.

Ooh those hot springs look fun even for a more contemporary game!
