Hi everyone,

I hope you're all doing well! It has been a while since I was last here and I have come with a question for you that I hope you can help with.

I know, it's one of the age-old questions but it has been bugging me for a while now. Is there a custom object or 'way' to get Sims to stop chatting in the bathrooms everywhere?

For instance, I have a restaurant with a nice fireplace sitting area, books, other miscellaneous objects and almost none of the Sims go to the entertainment/sitting area for any reason because they are always talking in the bathrooms, blocking other Sims from entering or exiting.

The other rooms in the restaurant get used quite a lot and work very well, it's just that I'm not sure what makes Sims to start their chatting in the bathroom of all places. The other rooms don't get that kind of activity, not even the restaurant proper, so it must have something to do with idling Sims in the bathroom.

I don't know if there is a door that you can use on the bathroom entrances that will force Sims to leave before they can idle enough to chat, but it seems likely (since I have a no-description Auto-Exit Door that doesn't drop with the walls I could use).

I really appreciate the help you can give me, thanks a lot!

Hmmm.

This particular sink from Livin` it Up causes a Sim to leave
the Restroom after use, and go to the Mailbox. (Put it nearby.)

The Bathroom Door locks itself when one Sim goes in.
Unlocks on exit. Convenient.

Am sharing both inside Zip. Hope they work for you!

I'll have to take a look at those two objects you've shown me! They sound very useful.

Though I wonder if the LIU sink (center in the picture) would work on a community lot, since there is no mailbox for the Sims to return to. Something to test, I'd say.

I use the bathroom stalls on community lots, so the door you've attached isn't going to be that useful for my particular situation (community lots), but for a house it sounds like a good deal!

I might already have these downloads, but I appreciate you attaching them for me regardless.
Thanks a lot, bluesage! smile

Inge over on Simlogical has a locking bathroom door to restrict how many sims are in at once. Also some people use apartment objects to restrict the bathroom to just family so at least your sims have a bathroom to use, though not sure if that well help on away lots.

Also one thing I found that helps is putting two doors in the bathrooms at opposite ends. At the very least sims should not get stuck that way.

XANA,

To put a Mailbox onto an "Away-from-Home" lot,

paste it onto a residential lot, then add this

working replacement mailbox. (included below).

...and paste the lot back to its original place.

Oh. you will need to restore phones and registers,

but the portals allow normal wheel and foot traffic.

Hope this method fills your needs.

Incidentally,

You can move any Lot to Any Other, but to function

you need to upgrade the entry/exit portals. smile
