I know I used to have more than one playable game on my puter at a time, so that I could, say, have an all-mediaeval game with appropriate CC.
But I have completely forgotten how to do that with Sims 1! (Don't get old, it's vastly overrated!)

I've never had more than one game loaded, but I remember somebody mentioning having a couple and giving them different names.

A New Userdata in a new folder will give you a start.

Paste in all lots and characters that you prefer.

Alternately, a new "the Sims"
(copied from previous)
with different objects.

Works; have done repeatedly.

Can offer more.

You can just copy, rename and paste the 'The Sims' folder in the Maxis folder. Just run whichever EXE is in the folder of whichever game you want.

Right. That was it! Thank you :)

Now I can make my sci-fi Hood and my mediaeval and my Victorian....

I knew I had done it previously but didn't remember the trick to it.
