Just a quick reminder of how to do Debug Mode either for objects or houses: (I never can remember myself) I've copied the general instructions here (Thanks Patty!):

To Debug Objects:
1. Go to start, all programs, maxis and then the sims.
2. Create a shortcut to the desktop by right clicking either 800X600 or 1024X728
3. Right click your new shortcut, and go to properties.
4. In the target line type
"C:\Program Files\Maxis\The Sims\Sims.exe" -r1024x768 -debug_objects
(you need the "s")
or
"C:\Program Files\Maxis\The Sims\Sims.exe" -debug_objects
(for 800x600)

To Debug Lots:
1. Go to start, all programs, maxis and then the sims.
2. Create a shortcut to the desktop by right clicking either 800X600 or 1024X728
3. Right click your new shortcut, and go to properties.
4. In the target line type
"C:\Program Files\Maxis\The Sims\Sims.exe" -r1024x768 -debug_houses
or
"C:\Program Files\Maxis\The Sims\Sims.exe" -debug_houses
(for 800x600)

If your game is crashing, running in debug can sometimes circumvent the crash. When your game tries to crash, debug gives you an error message (which is hard to decipher) that provides clues as to why. Usually there's a naughty object.

Another wonderful part of this is this:

If you have enough RAM you will notice.

If you start the game and it takes 15 mintues to load
Then it crashes later on
You restart the loading and it pops up faster surprise

Every time it crashes and then reloads, it's faster.

Now don't reboot your computer nono

If you want to load faster. If you reboot your computer, then you are at square one.

Does this matter to most? No probably not no

I have so MANY objects in my game, it takes over 20 minutes to load the first time. Then as time goes on, (I don't reboot my puter too often when I am playing)..... My game will crash for whatever reason, OR I shut it down to add more files rolleyes

It loads faster and faster, all the way to 9 minutes. Now if you have as much as I have, that's a miracle all by itself hug
