Sorry if this isn't in the right place and has already been asked, but where can I learn how to change regular downloaded skins into buyables?

Changing the normal Skins into buyables:

Step 1: Copy and re-name the CMX by changing the initial B into the desired letter:
F = Formal
S = Swimsuit
L = Lingerie
W = Winter(Vacation)
H = High fashion(Superstar)

Step 2: Open the re-named CMX copy in Notepad and change the B in line 5 to match like you did in step one. Close by clicking on the X in the upper right. When asked if you want to save changes click okay.

Step 3: Re-name the BMP by changing the B to match like you did in step one.

That's it. You don't have to change the xskin at all.
To change a buyable to normal just use a B instead of the buyable letter.

Or you can use SimFileMaid This program helps you to change the function of your skins. You simply drag the bmp you want to change onto the clothes rack and then choose which type of clothing you want to change it into in the pop-up window. And it will rename the bmp and make a correct copy of the cmx for you.
