Hello,
I found the tutorial for the onetile painting very handy. But here it comes:I tryed the 2 tile painting and it comes out backwords. It looks fine but once I start up the game I can only place it facing the back of the wall.So in order to see it I must lower the wall..
Can you help me? I tryed 3 times and I suspect there is a flaw in the tutorial that I as newbie cannot find.
Can anybody here help me correct it?
Lynnie

Just to make sure we are on the same page, you mean one of these, right?

Unless I am misunderstanding the problem (quite possible) it sounds as if your X and Y coordinates may need changing.

Step 36: Now, if part of your painting is inside of the wall after you have your height adjusted right, you need to use the "X offset" to fix this. Remember to check both views in The Sims. I always have to play around with this if my painting is in the wall. You will get to where you know how to fix this as you do more paintings.

The reason for this would be because the X/Y numbers they gave match with the Z buffer t-mog made for them but your Z buffer may have not come out the same way.

T-mog looks at where your image is on the P sprite and makes a Z buffer based on that. So the only way you would get exactly the same Z buffer they did is if your P sprites is exactly the same position and shape as theirs.

Annette explains this with a lot more detail (and pictures woohoo!) here:

It's one of those things that can be a weird sort of concept at first but then it suddenly "clicks" and you understand it in that "Of Course!" way and can't figure out why you did not see it form the beginning.

My painting looked so good once I changed the x and Y at least I thought that was it in transmogrifier.

Lynnie, could you post a pic of what it looks like in the game? That'll make it much easier for us to know exactly what needs done.

What exactly happened when you tried to change the X and Y coordinate that Raeven suggested? What effect did it have?

Another thing to check is whether you have the graphics on the right P sprites. From your description, it's hard to say, but you might just have the front graphic (where the painting shows) on the back P sprite and vice versa.
