laugh Okay its not a big dinner.

The giant eats such large lunch meals I won't make big dinners no

Two small pork cutlets I cut up into four long steaks
I boil and mash potatoes
I open a can of saurkraut

In the oven are two small casserole dishes with the above

I fried the culets quick and crisp.. Now in the oven for dinner
at 375 for 30 minutes

clap I will have my small portion and he will have his giant portion that is nothing of the size he has at lunch jfade's psycho jfade's psycho

mmm yum!

Pork and sauerkraut go so well together. My family hate it, apart from me, they call it "pickled compost" :P

I like it cooked with leftover potatoes and bacon, :) or with chickpeas and tomatoes as a salad. thumbsup

Pork... I don't think of it as a meat (I do sometimes eat it, and boy is it a show laugh ).
Sauerkraut.... It looks funny, it smells funny, I think I'd rather take my chances ingesting it, mmmmnkay? whistle

My caveman LOVES sauerkraut, and he's the only one in the family who'll eat it. The rest of us don't mind a roast or ribs cooked in it, so long as it's all scraped off before it gets to the plate. It does at least tenderize the meat a little.

Actually, the caveman likes a LOT of the really old fashioned dishes that the rest of us don't, like corned beef and cabbage. So I make them once in a great while just to make sure he doesn't start feeling neglected. laugh

Saurkraut is something I'd rather stay away from... I'd rather more describe it as "saturated cabbage with vinegar". I'd much rather eat a burnt sour crab-apple pie, to be honest.

YUK on the saurkraut, but DH loves it and lucky for me my mom makes it for him so I don't have to whistle

although, since she lives right upstairs I can still smell it cooking thumbsdown

Mom's tips on saurkraut (kapusta) - drain the water from it and cook it in fresh water, add some cooked bacon pieces, some very very thinly sliced apple and sprinkle with caraway seeds. Simmer it until the apple slices disappear.
