I think I had some similar pine furniture somewhere. I'll have a look tomorrow and see where it came from.
There are prayable crosses here and there. One was simple and lovely and would be perfect in the cells. Once again, I'll have to load the game to see where it was from.

actually the union with God in intimate love is the aim of every Christian life; what singles out the Carthusians is that they strive more directly toward this goal . The entire life in A Charterhouse is geared to this, that "we may the more ardently seek, the more quickly find, the more perfectly possess God himself in the depths of our souls; and thus, with the Lordís help, we may be enabled to attain to the perfection of love - which is the aim of our Profession and of the whole monastic life - and through it, to obtain beatitude eternal". To attain 'the one necessary thing', the Carthusians developed their own characteristic way of life marked essentially by solitude and silence.

In my screenshot where I grabbed some simple objects suitable for a monastic life (though not all in one room!) from left to right:
Bookcase-Honey's sims FSF at N99 forum
Bookcase 2- Simprover
Counter 1- Honey's
Counter 2- Ferndale sims
Plate rack- Super Sims
trug and smaller shelf - Parsimonious
Door- Vicki's Sims yahoo group medieval

rug- that one is Simnut's although Mdamlady has some nice rag rugs too and Poetica's log cabin set has a nice patchwork rug.

maybe has nothing much to do here, but why not make an invisible sim,and name it GOD? a kind of sim who exist, but no in material way,and make his perfect in every point,or balanced, exist and go in the house, but cannot be used (This used as a limitation by the player) is good make some limitations sometimes for the sake of the game no?

Around the Sims has a prayer stool in the new church set. Not quite as 'plain' as the one in the picture, but I just thought I'd mention it anyway, since it's a relatively new set...
