Personally, I like the Supersculpture from Some Sim Things
http://www.somesimthings.com/Obj/05Obj.htm as it saves a lot of time in making friends and wasting time sleeping and so on.

I love so many objects from C &C Enterprises

http://cambouisfr.free.fr/

For the Superstar the Smart Butler Phone plug in might come in handy.

My personal fave is the A la Carte Fridge and it's 6 foodfiles
- a lot of new meals to choose from!

And the Anywere Dresser is a must have in my opinion.

Check under Downloads / Regular Simmies !

Simlogical has a lot of useful hacks...

http://www.drealm.info/simlogical/sl/downloadpages/downloads.htm

lockable doors... systems for payment...
Apartment Hack System
Instiutions like Prison Hospital
School system
and so much more

Woobsha is Raevens site and o boy are there useful stuff there.

http://www.woobsha.com/

I don't really know were to begin so go take a look !!!

oh so many to choose from :)
i absolutely love my up/down stairs, its like a vertical door and invisible, so no big unsightly staircases ruining the design of yr home, and they are soooo much quicker for yr sims to use than normal stairs!
i also love my invisiyak table :) its an end table that disappears in live mode and lets yr sims 'talk' to each other even when they are doing seperate things, great for keeping yr social bar in the green and also for keeping friendships going! as long as u are all in the same room as the table you have positive conversations and yr relationship score goes up :)
no privacy toilet and showers are a god send too! i have one lot that has 3 kids and i like to wake them all up by sending them for a shower, if i had to do it one at a time it would take them hours, but with the no privacy showers they all happily take a shower at the same time :)
i also love the supersculpture but it slows my game right down when placed for some reason so instead i have been using 'moodbooster' it costs 250 for a maxi boost that boosts all yr bars right up, but i only really use it when i really really have to anyway so its just handy to have, and the one i have looks like a juicer surrounded by fruit, so it looks good in the kitchen :)

invisyak table http://www.woobsha.com/gnohmon01.html
up/down stairs http://mistymage.com/gnohmongoodies/buildmode.html
moodbooster http://www.aroundthesims.com/objects/food_15.html (3 pages of them, different objects)

i cant remember where i got my no privacy toilet/shower/tub from, but i think it may of been deviant sim, but that site isnt there anymore.

there are sooooooooo many cool items on the gnohoms goodies page!! (the link for the up/down stairs) i have got loads of stuff from there, his servo fountain is great too, its a fountain that u place and it brings a npc that just wanders around yr lot constantly tidying, making beds, watering plants etc. you can also get some items and a door so u can have your own 'servants quarters' for him on there too, including a table that sends him to check for jobs every hour, so he doesnt have to wander around yr house when he is not busy :)

i could go on and on, but i wont because i am probably boring you all already laugh laugh

I tend to find that hard to answer since there are so many different ways to have fun in the Sims but I had to mention another Some Sim Things hack that's a must have in any SimPlayer's game - the Call In Sick hack allows you to take off of work for the day and your Superstar can call in an interview instead of schlepping in to Studio Town.

Some Sim Things is a quietly brilliant site with a lot of really lovely game-enhancing hacks that don't get mentioned that often. My personal favorites tend to revolve around sim kids.

Turbo Llama has a yahoo group set up with his extremely popular hacks. One of his specialties is invisible, intersectable objects.

While Atelier Quebec usually thought of as an Asian Objects must have they also offer unique some pretty unique hacked objects. Again the kid related Rocking Horse is my personal favorite but the hookah, japanese tea set and bunkbeds are also pretty exciting.

Magic Sims also has some positively brilliant hacks and needs checking out. I think most people know it for the joinable art hack but there's a lot more there.

On Japanese sites keep an eye out for "Trial and Error" as that will promise to be a rather brilliant and often complex hack.

At my own site, if I had to pick a single page for "must have" I'd go with the "Convert To" hacks. I don't use the DT Fridge one myself very much since I don't tend to build downtown but I could not play the game at all without the other three. They give me complete control over the flow of the household at mealtimes and allow me to give my Sims some "quiet time" without having the damn TV blaring away or resorting to a neighborhood of chess players.
There are four other hacks I'd also try to save if the "house caught fire":
Our grill/stove combination appliance, the Large Capacity trash cans (who knew simply doubling the capacity could change the game so much?!), a functioning sideboard with built in buffet, and a scullery maid (and if she could kleenex up the at home bar bottles in the above link as we ran out that'd be superb)

Simslice and Sirlaphalot are the first stop for patches ... I'm not sure they are considered "exciting" so much as necessary game fixes, though.

Simlogical has something to remove annoying npcs and
Magic Sim has a patch to remove Unleashed pests.
