Okay I know there aren't a lot of people here these days probably who could help with this, but I'll ask anyway.

I'm trying to make a staircase. It is strictly a recolor. I did all the back views first, which includes the nw and sw railings (both left and right). I haven't done the front yet. Because it's a lot of sprites I put it back together just to look at the back view (which honestly I'd think would be the 'front' but that's how Maxis named them) but the top rails are now doing something funny and appear to be hovering about another storey up.

It's only on the large view (the medium and small are fine), and it's also for some reason affecting the front view as well, whose sprites I did not touch at all. I've only touched the p-sprites and didn't mess with a's or z's at all.

I'm on a Mac with IffSnooper. The two sprites that are affected are the ones that are labelled 'upstairs.' I don't see how anything I did would have moved them. All I can think of is that somehow disassembling them and then reassembling them messed something up. I'm going to try to adjust the height on them and see if that fixes it but if it doesn't and it's something peculiar to IffSnooper I'm not sure what I can do.

Any ideas?

The other railing on the right is also high; it's just off the top of the page here. Again, this also affects the 'front' side of the stairs and I don't know why.

I found this thread, and though it's talking about T-Mog it sounds like something similar. http://simblesseoblige.com/viewtopic.php?t=9404&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=heighth+height+offset

I futzed with the heights and it did seem to stick just fine; I'll have to finesse them once I get all the graphics finished.

Hi Thalia smile

That made me think that through what happened to you the third floor has been discovered once laugh

Anyway, useful information in the linked thread. As I'm creating myself now (Stone Age theme, to be found here in SO in "Theme Players") I'm beginning to experience those strange things that can happen and am grateful for all the info to be found here in the threads.

Did Damondamore's hint fix your issue?
I hope so, the staircase with those walls is really beautiful!

Yes I ended up just moving the wayward pieces down a floor. Though 'just' involved like thirtysixmillion sprites because of the railings so it was annoying, but I got them where they should be. At a guess it looks like the offset for an entire floor is 256? Anyway moving them by that much put them right where they should be and the thing looks great in-game now.

Great recoloring, you know how to change stairs behaviors?

No, that I don't know, sorry. I'm not much of a hacker.

What kind of a behavior are you looking to change?

I mean allowing stairs to have new behaviors like two sims using it at time, or diferent directions stairs...

You might look at the Gnohmon stairs, then.

I have no idea why that would be doing that. Just wanted to say that I love the color you used. Great job!
