Was highly amused with the new Supernatural neighborhood Moonlight Falls. It's inhabited by creatures such as vampires. It's also home to a beach called La Shove which probably isn't amusing to anyone except people who live in the Pacific Northwest and fans of Twilight. There is a beach a few hours away from me called La Push, famous for rotten weather and for being a locale for the Twilight novels.
The Sims La Shove beach even looks like La Push!

Another sort-of-pun I liked was the "Durwood" family - witch mom, mortal dad, two witchy kids and a b/witch mother-in-law.

If you ever watched 'Bewitched' - 'Durwood' is one of Endora's names for her hapless son-in-law Darrin.

I really did like the mish-mash of references, and the ability to mix various takes on the creatures as well.

I'll have to show off the garden then!
Meanwhile, I found another thing in Supernatural I think is a Seattle reference. The stone troll in the background of this video looks just like the stone troll that "lives" under the bridge in the Fremont district of Seattle.
Why do I have a feeling that someone who worked on that game used to live here in Seattle?
Note me catching humongous toad while fishing!

Did you see the new 'achievement badges' you can earn? One is called "Swan Dive" - have your Sim break up with her vampire boyfriend, then become the girlfriend of a werewolf, then break up with the werewolf to marry a vampire...

There's a family in town called Swaine - dad is a cop and there's no mother, only a little girl with long black hair...

And then there's this single woman who didn't know she was a fairy but who had strange things happen around her all the time. She lives in her grandmother's house and works in the diner... Sounds a *lot* like Sookie Stackhouse...

This EP is really full of references...
