Hi,

I looked on Persimmon Grove and Gardening Sims, but even there I couldn't find a (black) elder tree or bush. Botanical name Sambucus Nigra. Has anyone seen one and would tell me?

Elder is an important plant in Middle Europe, every good house with garden needs one!

For the flowers to make syrup and "Hollerküchle", something delicious, and the berries to make juice and liquors. And medicine. Last but not least in elder trees there live protecting spirits ;)

And Italians make an interesting tasting hard liquor by it: Sambuca! Hmmmm....

(OK, changed my request from holly to elder *g*)

Thanks Bluesage,

but I just realized I used a wrong translation - it's elder I'm looking for, Sambucus nigra. Of course I go and have a look to the link...then I tell you...let's see...

(turned back) In fact, now I've learnt that holly means Stechpalme in German *g*
And the elder is called Holunder or Holler. I go and change my question.

Elderberry shrubs actually come as part of Makin' Magic- and they produce edible elderberries for cooking!
