Tiffany Ruins it Again
Every time I play the Burbs, Tiffany ruins my story line. I always feel a bit sorry for Brad and try to play to give him a comfortable life but Tiffany always ruins it and I lose interest. Here’s the latest attempt:

Brad inherits his uncle’s ranch.

But shades of Green Acres, Tiffany doesn’t like it. She turns her nose up at the truck

Brad loves his tractor!

He gives Johnny a ride

And lovingly tends the only crops left behind by his uncle:

Johnny and Tucker play:

But ambitious Tiffany is stuck in the kitchen making raspberry jam

Fed up with playing Martha Stewart, Tiffany calls for maid service.

Unfortunately, the maid service sends over Rocco. Tiffany immediately falls in love.

And now Rocco is all she can think about. Tiffany ruins it again!

Johnny Burb rode his bike down to the summer festival in the park. Cassandra Goth was there (minus her glasses for some reason) and they had a ride on the new carousel. This was my first time using the carousel even though it came out a month ago.

Meanwhile, back at the Burb ranch...
Brad is about to attempt to eat Tiffany's macaroni and cheese which she burnt.

All I can say is that Brad will have to learn to do his own cooking. laugh

I think Tiffany needs a career. She wasn't cut out for housework even though she's tidy. She cleans and cooks but obviously hates it. Something in the combination of her traits I suppose but I think my Sims 1 Tiffany was the same.

Brad got a horse but I've decided, in an attempt to keep Tiffany happy, to see if she wants to be a horsewoman. Then she can emulate Princess Anne instead of Martha Stewart.

Tiffany is happy. Brad (on the tractor in the background) is happy. Brad even tends the garden and things without me directing him. The Burbs are one big happy family.

I've always felt the 'odd one out' on any Sims 1 forum, in that I absolutely detest Brad and feel more sorry for Tiffany than for him - since he seems to be leading the life he wants...
Maybe that says something about me rather than the Burbs, though. laugh

I do think the horses are the one thing that could reconcile a snob like Tiffany to 'living in the country'. :)

I always thought the burbs were based off of Oliver and Lisa from Green Acres. I never exactly though of Tiffany as being mean for the sake of it, but I always felt she was stifled by the farm life. Of course the city is, what, a few minutes by taxi so I never really knew what her complaint was! laugh

My only really successful Burbs game was in Sims 3 in a game installation I lost in a crash. They had moved to Monte Vista and Brad was growing and producing wine (I have a mod so it says wine rather than nectar) and Tiffany was fashion designing and having a blast. That Italian hilltop town and countryside appealed to both.
