Now I am looking for testers for the raven phones, who do not have the German version of The Sims. - files enclosed in this thread below

I made Raven Messenger phones for home, vacation and the neighbourhood (UL) and they work quite well.

I can't remember a phone ringing on non residential lots, but who knows - is there any occasion that a public phone will ring on vacation island or in the UL neighbourhood?

I ask because I'd like to know if I have to correct the positions of all the "phone ring" drawgroups as well for the away lot phones (I did that for the Vac one, but not for the UL one yet. And I am lazy wink ).

In all the time I played ( and I play a lot) , public phones have never touched ringing.

What a cool idea !!
The raven will fly or something ??

In CTO I had the same answer, thanks Andrč!

For incoming calls on the residential phone the raven flutters with its wings and sort of croaks smile

Now all phone versions (residential, VAC and UL) work in my game, without showing the handset. Just an occasional (when I call with the residential version, but not every time) "missing animation" will pop up, I can't find the exact place and reason, but it does not disturb the phone call in its function.

Now I am looking for non German version game owners who are willing to test the three phones to have an answer to these questions:

* Do the phones show up and work as they should?
* Is there a handset in the Sim's hand while calling?
* Any other problem?

Test files enclosed here.

In my game there are no problems, and the Sims don't have the handset suit during the conversation. Most time they make gestures or stand there listening. Fewer voices are heard in comparison to a normal phone.

Meanwhile I'll work over the graphics to improve them.

You should make sure your animation strings are in the US language strings and ONLY in the US language strings.

All languages will look to the En-US language if theirs is empty, but having a different animation in one language can cause head scratching when you try to figure out what's wrong for whom!

I think that the animation issue could stem from phone plugins. I'm not sure if the animation they want to pull is in the phone or the plugin. My guess is that the phone plugin is looking for a phone animation that isn't there in your object. The simplest solution would be to fill in duplicate animation strings so the phone plugin has something to reference.

Of course without looking at the objects this is only a guess.

Ah, phone plug ins - yes I do have some indeed, that might be the reason why!

Based on how phone plugins look to *me* it looks like they use their own animation strings but I could be wrong and the phone's may override them.

If the phone does override them (sigh) I guess I can actually do my computer-that-takes-phone-plugins...

Tested quickly in my game!
I tested the crow to residential lots .
It worked well when I ordered a pizza without equipment on hand sims , the sims just gesturing .
When the phone ring it was quite funny sound.laugh
Well, I believe it has worked well...

Well, I think it's acceptable for my first telephone creation experience to not care for plug ins and what overrides what whistle
