Yes but the black screen is a just an overlay - it is a glitch of Windows 10 with things in a window. VERY annoying when you are testing what you made and restarting windows every few minutes but not so bad for just placing.

Hit CCTRL+Alt+Delete as if you are going to the task manager.
The hit Esc to clear that away and it'll takes the overlay (black screen) with it.
Your game's running just fine underneath.

So bringing up the task manager (CTRL+ALT+DEL) and then canceling (ESC) it is not removing the black screen?

Oh I see. You have a lot more going on than simply just adding the -w -r1024x768 to your shortcut.

Perhaps the no cd exe that you are using has been hacked to try to display the game in a larger size and that may conflict with the " -r1024x768" portion that you added (?) to the shortcut. But I am not sure. Hopefully someone knowledgeable will recognize the issue you are having[/i]

I had this error on a system that supports the Sims (XP) when I tried to hack it to a resolution the game was completely incapable of supporting. Without being sure, I think that's what the problem is.

I'm disappointed.
I go to a technical assistance for them to install Windows 8 again!
