The friendly staff vampire here at Simblesse Oblige think it's time for another challenge to bring you out of your midwinter blahs!

In the Heirloom Home Challenge, you inherit a home, which you can make over to the best of your ability, with some important restrictions!.

1. You may not demolish the house and start with a bare lot, although you may add a second floor, or another room, or move interior walls.

2. There is no limit on the amount you can spend.

3. There are some objects from the base game TS1 which have been left to you as part of the inheritance, and these objects must be somewhere on the lot in your challenge entry or entries. These objects are the 'See Me, Feel Me Pinball Machine', the 'SimSafari' zebra sofa, the 'SC Electric Co Antique' brass lamp with the white shade, and the 'Tragic Clown' painting. If you have Living Large, Deluxe, Double Deluxe, or the Complete Collection, then the llama topiary is also required. (Nobody said this was going to be easy! rolleyes )

4. Patchover has been kind enough to allow the use of one of her (base game only required) lots. Download Lot 1 from Blue Patty's (TS, not LL) folder at http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/SimSummer/

Edit:This lot was made on a computer with only the base game, and no downloads installed, so it should be compatible for everyone.

If you haven't visited Simsummer before, you'll probably want to grab some of the other downloads available there. You'll recognize some of the creator names!

Go. Builders, go! drawingboard

Oops! I knew there was something I was forgetting! blush

There are no prizes, but there is a very nice participation award!

So everyone who enters, staff or otherwise, will get the participation award. biggrin

SimSummer is a neat little group!! I grabbed a few goodies while I was getting the house - one of them was a Shakespearean theatre lot for a community lot.

Yes, doors and windows can be changed.

The lots were made on a computer that had only the base game installed and no downloads, so there shouldn't be any problems. Please tell us right away if you encounter difficulties.

Note: I have edited the announcment post to include the information about the compatability of the lot. Because the problem of lot incompatability worried us at the time that patty/patchover made these lots, she borrowed a computer and installed only the base game/no downloads, so that we could be sure the lots would not cause problems. Except for patty's frustration with the limited selection of furnishings, wallpaper, etc., in the base game. laugh

I will , and just because it was made on a base game I am willing to try again.
Last time I got an house from Junipur at N99 for an challenge and as she had UL installed it messed up my carportal and more.
Then I read about why Downloaded houses crash at N99 Sticky area and
realized that I really needed to have
,the same expacks as the house creator had installed to be able to use a house without major problems.

This will be fun - my first redecorating challenge! whistle
( Need to get out more from PSP and T-mog)

Is it a challenge only for creators with Transmo and other programs creations ?

This challenge is for all our members. You don't need any programs other than the base game to play.

And this time, entries are just the pictures, not the skins or objects that you make.

Not Blue Patty's Living Large Lot 1. Blue Patty's The Sims Homes Lot 1, which has only one floor.

The house is the one pictured on the front page of SimSummer. It is located in Files/Patchover/TS and is called Vacation Home Lot One. Patty made these as a way for people who don't have Vacation to give their sims a different house to live in.

This is a redecorating challenge for everyone. The house is already furnished and decorated. We want to see what you can do with it. Feel free to strip the walls and pull up the carpets and sell all the furnishings and use rosebud. Any style or decor is welcome. Use objects from any expansion pack or downloads you have. But you must have the Heirloom items somewhere and keep the basic structure of the house when you are done.

there is a little participation gift for anyone who takes part in this challenge and shows off their house.

It is a flower urn with 6 different flowers that you can change in game. It looks very pretty in the game smile
