Greetings!

I've made 3 "school bells" to fit into themed homes better - there's a clock, a Victorian needlework sampler and a medieval style tapestry - that little medieval scribe on the tapestry is St Brigid of Ireland, patron saint of students. Now your sim kids can be home schooled and that out of place bus won't show up.

These are based on the Simlogical school bell. Just putting it on a lot will prevent the school bus from arriving. You don't have to run the school institution hacks (unless of course you intend to open a school). The sim child must still study to keep up his/her grades.

NOTE: Other themed bells have been added to this thread - Part 2 and 3. Be sure to scroll down to see them all.

How neat! I love the sampler one. Does this prevent the military school incursions, or do the kids still have to study or use a hack?

I'm glad you like them! I was excited to discover the use of the bell, I had to make something laugh The sim kid still has to study to keep the grades up though.

Part 2:

I made some more school bells to cover even more themes - there's Tolkien - a map of Middle Earth, classical - that marble face is the Greek poet Homer, ancient - niche graphics based on Wondrheart's niches, a carved turtle mirror for Tiki lots and a little rustic shelf with clutter for pioneer era lots.

Enjoy!

P.S. For anyone interested in object making the Wondrheart niche is a little treasure. The alpha channels for the back of the niche are set to be quite dark, so the back is virtually transparent in game. This means it picks up any wallpaper you put the niche on, so the niche goes with everything. Of course the alphas of the clutter objects in the niche must be the opposite - quite solid - otherwise the clutter would disappear too.

Jan 2009 - PART 3

More schoolbells have been made. There are 2 sort of gothic style, 1 greenman tapestry (so that makes it ?wicca) and a flower wreath for country style homes.

OK, that's enough. I gotta stop this and save room for bigger surprises!
