fun things to do with digital photos.... turn them into little e-cards. This is my 2 year old black labrador crossbreed, Benton. I have no idea what the "X-breed" in him is - he was a stray puppy picked up off the road.

What a darling leathernose. I love love love dog noses. LOVE them. Big ones, especially.
Our German Shepherd (Jolla), at 130 pounds, takes it a bit far, though. She like to have a drink, and then bring her nose visiting. When I came home today, it was like she'd tied a wet sponge to her snout before she came to greet me. Very messy.

Benton is super friendly and big on giving everyone kisses. He's such a tart. laugh Oh and he response on seeing me get back after a week away. His tail couldn't wag fast enough! I like big dogs too - they need to be "doggy dogs".

Count me in on the big doggie contingent laugh The bigger the better sez I. I also like certain kinds of "ugly" dogs, too, namely, boxers, pugs, English bulldogs, rottweilers & Boston terriers. my big dog favorites are mastiffs, bullmastiffs, Irish wolfhounds, huskies and chows. My Jim, on the other hand is really keen on Shetland sheepdogs, aka shelties.

I love Shelties, too. My favorites are beagles, though. I have had 2 of them. They are the best of both worlds. Really doggy dogs, as you say, Ruth. Nothing sissy-like about them, but they are small enough to sit on your lap without smooshing you and small enough to pick up. That became important when our 17-year-old beagle got arthritis in her back and couldn't go up steps. If we couldn't have picked her up, she could not have gotten in and out of the house.

Benton looks like a really great guy with a great personality. It just goes to show that a dog does not need a pedigree to be a great dog!

What a darling dog smile It's so nice you gave him a loving home. I have to tell you though when I saw his name at first I thought it was my daughters name Brenton! Thank you for sharing.

wub awwww i love dogs they are my favourite animals.
I have a dog called jack and he is a cross breed between a whippet and a
border terrier, although he is bigger like a whippet but brown like a terrier.
And he is my baby boy to go with my 3 baby girls!
He is like my best friend , he follows me around the house ,sleeps in my bed, and cuddles me!(literally with his paws!)
And he knows when i'm upset and comes to comfort me straight away.
He is my faithful protector and would guard me and my girls me with his life. Sorry to you cat lovers but i've had cats and they just don't compare. They don't protect you , always only come in for food and then disappear!
And my last cat i had got jealous of my pregnancy and used to hiss at me then he started weeing on me all the time(to mark his teritory)
Well lets just say i haven't had a cat since. dry

I'm so sorry you have had a bad experiance with kitties. I don't think there is an animal out there that I don't like. I have 5 cats and one little dog who thinks she is a cat (Emma Sue) Over the many years and having been a Vet Tech I have found that cats are just as loving as dogs and mine do make an attempt to protect. I have always had both when I had my children and my cats loved the babies. And never have any of my cats just came in for food and left. But I am a crazy animal owner and I play with mine as well as my dog and love on them alot, heck they even et to go out for creative play when the weather is nice. And the will come in when I tell them it's time to go in LOL! Sure some cats aren't nice but so are some dogs. I think some people have a tendancy to think that cats don't need or require the same amount of attention that a dog does. But they do. Dogs are just more upfront about it, they will come and drool on you or breathe doggy breath or bark to let you know they need attention. Now a cat, well that is just beneath them to act like that. (Can't say I blame them)laugh Seriously I love them all.
Hugs
Anoush (Crazy cat auntie)

I have eight cats at the moment... :)

We had dogs before, too, but our last dog had major behaviour problems (such as peeing on my leg whenever I stopped to talk to a neighbour during his walks!) I tried by myself to break him of certain habits, but every time I'd trained him out of one thing, he'd find something new...
In the end we re-homed him. This family had more dogs, and it turns out that he behaves much better in a pack of dogs... So I hope he's happier now. I do miss him in spite of everything...

Oh, and Benton's a cutie, Ruth!

laugh i know that cats are adorable.
And my cat was very loving and used to sleep on my bed at first and lick my face but like i said he changed over night. surprise
But he was a rescue cat and the people who had him before used to be cruel to him and spin him around and blow smoke in his face and such!
The evil buggers. angry
But don't get me wrong i'am an animal lover and i do love all pets and i support alot of charities but the weeing etc just put me off and the fact that all of my mums cats try nicking food of your plates and they hiss and bite you. surprise
But my didn't bite he just got jealous of my pregnancy and i was worried he might get worse once the baby came along. As he even pooed in the new pram as well! surprise
I used to ask about him all the time when he was re-housed and i was so sad to here (about a year ago) That he died of a brain tumor .sad
well i hope that explains that i am an animal lover i just aren't as fond of kitties any more although i still think they are cute and i worry when i see my neighbours cat not being fed. angry

Oh I didn't mean to imply that you were not an animal lover, I'm very sorry if I came off that way in my post. No I was just saying that alot of people really do assume the wrong things when it comes to cats or even dogs.
