this request often comes around so I thought a theme topic of lists would be useful.

Post your favourite links for toxic waste dumps, dirty houses and overgrown gardens.

SimsID - Life of Grime series
http://www.simsid.com/

Sims Levittown - dirty objects plus dirt making doors and mud making doors.
http://simslevittown.bravehost.com/more_stuff.html

Sims Peaceful Days (japanese) - grotty stained kitchen - the stained fridge & stove are especially good - as is the single bulb hanging down light (no light shade)
http://www6.plala.or.jp/kanaya/downloads_ftop.html

7 Deadly Sims - Sloth section (of course!) has some dishevelled furniture, dead plant, dead tree, broken mirror etc. Don't forget to check the walls & skins section while you're in Sloth.
http://www.7deadlysims.com/downloads.jsp?sin=Sloth&Download_Type_ID=4&obj_type=Furniture

C&C Enterprises
go on any surface dressers - there is one that is a pile of clothes.

Some sites feature seasonal Halloween objects.

Thank you for posting these, Ruth - I seem to have missed that set at 7DS altogether, and the Japanese site was new to me.
And it just happens that I was doing something grotty and filthy - sort of a sidestep away from my Medieval 'hood... I'm actually trying to clean up my backed up other 'hoods but got sidetracked into building... :) This is a good excuse to continue 'decorating' for a while...

A little bookcase which although not exactly trashy is a little on the shabby and worn side.

Also: on http://www.thesimsresource.com, honourable mention must be given to a few things that find a place in all my grungy hoods: AudreyMay's grungy sink and fridge, SM Lust's Prison Set objects which include fridge and sewer pipes, and even bottle art, very finely made. award

Speaking of grungy, I am planning to build a lot that includes an abandoned field. Does anyone know of any sites with plants that look like high grass and weeds?

I like the tall weeds (especially the poppies) at Gardening Sims, and I often use the 'paddock grass' at Persimmon Grove, too.

I used a combination of weeds from these two sites to make the field next to my Blacksmith's house in my medieval hood:

There are some detail pictures in my album, but I never really made a photograph specifically of the field and the weeds... :) There are bits and pieces in the rest of the album, though:

http://good-times.webshots.com/album/561788023EVloSS

Every 'wild' plant on the lot is either Persimmon Grove or Gardening Sims.
