Okay, these are my first skins pretty much ever, but I think they came out pretty good in spite of that. The mesh they use is one of Jerome's, bj28fafit_JVDPRstraightMids, found here, http://jerome.simfreaks.com/ (It's on the meshes page, fifth page of the "dresses and skirts" section). I didn't alter the x-skin name even though it's pretty long, character-wise, but it seems to work okay on my Mac (using OS X 10.3).

I also made a head to go with it which I'm including too, after one of the Maxis ones (the gypsy-woman with the headband and earrings.)

First, an updated picture of the skins, with their new head(s) in place:

Okay, I need a hand here. The attachment process is telling me that bmp's are not allowed. Though I know I've seen other folk attach skins, &c. What am I not doing right, and what do I need to do to get around that?

(Good grief, learning curves everywhere!)

You can use a zip program like 7zips or something like that to make a zip file that contains your skins and then you can attach it to your post. I hope this helps some.

Ha, yes, thank you, I figured out that it needed to be zipped, and I figured out how to do that on my Mac (which I didn't think I could, but hey, OS X has its rare useful moments). So here they are, two Egyptian dresses and a head. Enjoy!

Scroll down page 2 for more skins.

Oh thank you. Here's another one I made tonight; it's a rough approximation of a dress worn by Princess Nefertiabet from Old Kingdom Egypt. The leopard-skin marks her as a priestess. On the original it looks like her left arm is sort of tucked into the dress (almost like it's a sling), but that wasn't going to work, so she gets a separate sleeve instead.

These are fun! I think I'm going to be making a whole bunch of these.

Well here are three more Old Kingdom/Middle Kingdom style sheath dresses. The blue one with the stars is based on one the sky-goddess Nut is usually depicted in.

I've posed them up against a vast expanse of berber carpet since the one on the right just wasn't showing up against the grass. It'll pass for sand for the time being I guess. :)

Oh and those are the headbands but they're not quite done, so they're not a part of the set.
