yes... Peter, when you say home-made utility - is it sharable? would you be willing to let some of us have a pick at it? There do seem to be many of the TSO skins that don't fit standard Maxis meshes, so this could be a large-ish project, and I don't want to reinvent the wheel if it's already been done.

Hi Sita

I've been reluctant to share my utility as it is not in a polished state and it would require some documentation for someone else to use it. And it only works on a Mac, but most of you probably figured that out already.

I will do another mesh tonight and take some screen shots that should make it more understandable.

OK I have polished my SKN program a bit and put it online if any Mac people want to try their hand at TSO mesh conversion.

Overview here:
http://homepage.mac.com/petergould/TSO/SKN_mesher/

File here:
http://homepage.mac.com/petergould/TSO/SKN_mesher/SKN_MesherX.zip

Edit Nov 20: new version of SKN_mesher can open compressed TSO meshes smile

OK I have listed the skins by meshes on Simechoes. http://www.simechoes.org/sims1/tso/TSOskins.htm

Some seem to have meshes from Sims 1 and EPs. Others appear to have meshes that may only be in TSO, and those would need to be extracted - but MAY already exist out there in the wide Sims world.
So I propose to continue searching for the meshes I don't see here - would appreciate if anyone knows where to find said meshes!
Meanwhile I'll start making the CMXs for the skins we do have meshes for, and get those up and downloadable as soon as possible. I think it best to make the BMPs available as whole skins - but if anyone would like the BMPs please let me know which ones, I can soon zip them up.

I need to brush up on my CMX making now :))

(Sadly I cannot use Peter's progam as I don't have a Mac. Would it convert?)

Right! From my limited experiments, the BMPs that already have meshes in the base game or EPs don't NEED to have CMX at all.
(PLEASE correct me if I am wrong!)

SO I am gonna put up the BMPs in zips for now.

Later tasks would be to convert as required to lingerie, formal etc as appropriate
and find the CMX for those without EPs.

If the bmp uses a mesh from the base game or an EP, then both the skn and cmx came with the base game or the EP.

Thanks Bruja; but if I want to make them available to people who have different EPs then I need to extract mesh and CMX?

There is plenty to do with the ones in the Sims game anyhow - I tried today, just put the B002 bmps into my vanilla game and they work a treat.

But I think I might be looking for the TSO heads as well soon! laugh

If the mesh is from a EP, then yes you need to extract both the cmx and skn for those that don't have that EP. If the mesh is from the base game, then all they need is the bmp. yes

I have converted the TSO skins for the robot factory and night club jobs
TSO night club skins, range B219 - B230
http://homepage.mac.com/petergould/TSO/skins/TSO_nightclub.zip
and
TSO robot factory skins, range B240 - B246
http://homepage.mac.com/petergould/TSO/skins/TSO_robotfactory.zip

The robot factory skins in TSO were numbered ct_rf_b200 to ct_rf_b206;
I renumbered them to avoid conflicts.

I still have the restaurant skins to finish. It appears from the job summary at TSOmania.net that the waiter/waitress track was implemented, but not the chef track, which would explain why I found more chef track textures than meshes. Can someone who played TSO confirm this?

You could never be hired as a chef, but I figured it would be in the game files anyway.

Could we recreate the careers from TSO? Does anyone remember or have screenies of the messages? I can make careers but I have no idea of the different grades.

The site Peter mentioned (TSOmania) describes the jobs players could have, I believe.

tq03q9i found a problem with the B225fafit skin conversion blush

The elbows and wrists are all wrong!

The mesh looks OK in Milkshape and Bodywarp - it just didn't get rigged properly...

After much puzzling as to why it showed up OK in TSO, I discovered an updated version of the mesh in the TSO avatar3 folder.

Here is the revised version of the mesh.
