You know you're a Simmer when...

...you're walking down the street, notice a door on a house, and your immediate thought is "That's by Aunt B, cool, I got it."

You know you're a Simmer when...

You believe that your self-sim just HAS to have things that YOU have IRL.

I hear you, Yersinia. I created my self-Sim and put her in a house I decorated for a challenge so I could take photos. She used to live in my real house, but I just never put her back because it would mean moving her to a different neighborhood, and I want her where she is. Her house is very modernistic, which I don't like IRL, so it seems really weird. There were a couple of things I would not compromise on, though. She plays the flute, and has my RL job--school band director!

So, I guess you know you are a Simmer when...

your self-Sim has to have your real-life job.

laugh My self sim had (as close as the game careers could get) to my RL job too.

About the house -- Not knowing exactly where she is, suppose hypothetically that Oreo-simmie lives in N2 on lot 7, but the house you'd rather her live in is in N3 on lot 8 -- so can't you:

Copy House08.iff from the Houses folder of UserData3, take that copy and put it in UserData2? Yes it would overwrite any house you already have on lot 8 in UserData2 but you could also rename it Housexx.iff to one of the lots that is "compatible" with lot 8 so as not to screw up the look of your neighborhood screen (if that's important to you) -- and then have Oreo-simmie buy her "real" house back?

Oh, oops, I'm taking this off topic again so....

You knoa you're a Simmer when...you walk through the park IRL and automatically think of Crumplebottom Park...

~Yersinia.

You know you're a Simmer when...

Your first thought when it comes to extra furnishings you might need for the new apartment you're about to move into IRL is "I have lots of stuff in my Downloads folder!"

Yeah, Yersinia, I know how to move the house to her neighborhood, but I decided not to. I don't have an appropriate available lot to put it on, and due to the game's grid, my house (which is actually a condo) looks too big in the game. If I made it as compact as it actually is, Sims wouldn't be able to get around very well and would get trapped in places. I think that it is a better house for a family with about 4 or 5 members, rather than my self-Sim.

You know you are a Simmer when...

your RL house needs cleaning and your clothes need to be ironed, but you are sitting around writing about where a miniature computerized version of yourself lives in a make-believe computerized neighborhood! laugh

You know you're a Simmer when...

You've just moved into your new house and have spent two solid hours unpacking boxes, you look around you and see SCORES more of them it'll take a month to excavate, and you suddenly think:

"Hey, what the hell are all of these boxes? Shouldn't I ONLY have to unpack the Magic Box -- and how come I didn't get one?"

...and..."Maybe I should get a cooking point before I try to use the stove...?"

...and you look at the stove and instantly think "Oh, it's a Dialectric..."

You know you're a simmer when you look at the fall foliage colour change, and wonder whether you remembered to save the summer lot before you brought the autumn lot out of storage.................

Or, when the leaves first start changing, you say, "Why are those trees yellow and orange? I didn't get in a ballon or jump down a hole!"

You know you're a Simmer when you finish washing the dishes, look at your newly cleaned kitchen sink, and think "Oh wow, my sink is the Epikourous Kitchen Sink!"
