Just as I had promised or threaten (as the case may be) here is my rendition of Liverpool Castle (using most of the pieces from here and some new special gifts from Eisbaer*Sweet Secret Santa*)

I adore it! Oh please, please will you upload the lot? I have most of the items in your pictures so would not need a shopping list. notworthy

(One thing I don't have is the drawbridge. Where is that from?)

You are a member at "My House" aren't you?

Well, if not register; then post your "Hi" at the Veranda; then head for the Holiday section (you can't miss it) - All the neat castle things that my Secret Santa (Eisbaer) made for me is there!! (That includes the Drawbridge)!!

Look at all the other fabulous things that the other Secret Santas made this Holiday season!!

My House

Sure, I'll upload the House (Lot 70) ASAP!!

wowza is right,,,

i would love to get these things... i just have a little problem. i don't have a .rar extraction tool.

so then the little problem became a monstrous one. i thought i'd just download a rar.exe from somewhere and got directed to a place with winrar.exe.

the nightmare begins:

if any of you know about winrar then you are sadder but wiser. the winrar.exe comes with a trojan horse embedded in it. there may be a clean version of it somewhere, but i wouldn't trust any of them now.

i have antiphishing, antispyware, and antivirus protection, but the D--- thing snuck through anyway. apparently it's a relatively new bug.

after the winrar installed i was immediately subjected to pop ups exclaiming "comanglia!" over and over again.

then yahoo and google were hijacked and redirected me to some place with chinese pictograms,,, then to a fake Windows website for another download to purge my system from the last download... oy

finally i managed my way to a real website and searched for a cure for the "comanglia bug". from what i've seen so far there's nothing other than to do a manual purge of your system to get rid of it. or format your pc and start over.

i decided to manually purge. sigh...

after about 7hrs of searching, purging, registry cleaning, and scanning with every utility device i have i think i've got most of it removed. lol, and oh yes, don't forget to unitstall winrar too.

so now that i can google and yahoo, and generally browse, i wondered if some one knows a place where i can get a CLEAN version of a rar extractor.... OR would just pity me and repack some of the rar files at aponee's site into zip files?

if not, i understand. it's a pretty big favor... lol, at least now i can talk to some folks again after the "battle". that much feels pretty good at least. geez,, i hope i got it all.. (crosses fingers)

sad

http://www.izarc.org/
IZArc not only opens Rar files, it also can sometimes recover files from inside of corrupt zip files. smile

Dang. Sorry about that; doing that sort of thing is a nightmare.

For the record, it was probably the site you got it from. My copy of WinRAR isn't that old, and it's perfectly clean.

That said, I think I'm going to look into this 7-Zip. I always try to keep my eye out for potentially useful software.

Edit: Apparently they fixed a bug in 7-Zip and released v. 4.64 on Saturday. Thought you might want to know.

I downloaded and scanned IZarc from this button. It was clean:
http://www.download.com/IZArc/3000-2250_4-10072925.html?part=dl-10072925&subj=dl&tag=button

Thanks for the 7-zip suggestion!

Izarc has been useful to me.

Does anyone know where I can get those crenellated half-wall pieces?
They stand about man-high.
