I felt bad for them living in that crappy little trailer. I mean, my God, the stove was even outside! Poor things.

So I gave them some new digs, courtesy of rosebud.

So now they live in a lovely Queen Anne surrounded by Vita Sackville-West-style garden rooms. Can you tell I'm getting very impatient with this winter stuff here in New England? Flowers everywhere!

Looks lovely.

The statue seating area, quite formal (perhaps a little too much for the house? This isn't a Newport mansion, after all):

Not yet, ha. But if I could figure out how to get Mama a new head that'd be nice. Always in curlers, never lets her hair down, poor thing.

Head replacement. vampire I think that's Bruja's territory.

I'm enjoying these, by the way - snapping them up as I you post them. biggrin

The herb garden and the veggie garden. The gardener they've hired practically lives there now! Actually, I watched her go round and round the vegetable garden last night, watering everything, then watering everything again, then again. Thorough, I guess, though woefully underpaid.

The side garden with the little tree (and yes, that's a &%*&$!! gopher hole right through the boards of the front porch. Some powerful incisors on that critter):

...And the back corner woods garden. I'm contemplating a Japanese-type (or Japanesque) garden off the side of the house, but I think I need to collect a few more objects.

Most of the plants and such, by the way, are from Gardening Sims and Persimmon Grove.

And thank you Siyankan; glad you're enjoying them!

Thalia, that lot is beautiful. I would love to see the inside of the house, too.

I shared your frustration about Mama always having her hair in curlers, so I made her a new head. It works with the same mesh as her Maxis head. I can't claim any special credit for this, because I just pasted her face together with hair from some other skin that I got who knows where, but you are welcome to download it if you wish.

That is a lovely garden! I'm sure Mama appreciates it. Thanks for sharing.
Where did the brick garden borders come from?

Thanks!

Though the inside of the house isn't probably all that interesting, given that this is supposed to be my "basic" game, the one I installed to test skins and objects in. I've been trying (unsuccessfully, alas) to resist adding too many downloads, so I don't have much furniture in it besides what came with the game, but I couldn't resist the gardening stuff.

And thank you for the head for Mama! So that's what her hair looks like! Now, if she only had a real first name, poor thing.

So... how do I replace her head? (I'm sure this has been covered elsewhere, but I couldn't find anything within SO about it. Is there a tutorial out there someone could direct me to? Keeping in mind I'm on a Mac which I'm guessing means I'd have to do it by hand. Also that I'm a beginner on the messing-with-the-insides-of-the-game front and I'm nervous about it.)

The brick borders are from Ferndale Sims:

Thalia, that is a beautiful lot! The cottage/ formal garden rooms are gorgeous.

There's a mini-tutorial here on how to change sims heads and bodies using Iffsnooper or Iffpencil.

Actually, Mars cleaned up Eldin's look a bit, if you're interested. No more whiskers! It's over at her Wild Simdom yahoo group (along with another Mama un-curled head).

You can also download the Sim Metamorphoser program from www.simwardrobe.com It will easily replace heads for you, and you can also change Sims' first names with it. You will be able to give Mama any first name you want her to have!
