I think I'll request it too, to make sure I don't have any conflicts waiting to happen.

It may have become corrupt while you were downloading. Try downloading the file again and unzip the new copy.

Ah, someone else had a problem with a Bunny file. I thought something went wrong with my download. May I please have a copy of this nifty program. ID conflicts have cropped up more than once.

Thank you very much.

If I may, in the event that we ever get any Mac Simmers in here who are having a problem with object ID conflicts, and would like to prevent future occurrences, I would like to add the following information and suggestions:

Object ID and FileCop are PC-only programs which do not work on Mac. Mac users need to use a program called GUID Checker.

GUID Checker is free and can be downloaded here:

http://www.aroundthesims.com/news/mac_tools.html

After you download GUID Checker, run it on the entire contents of your Downloads folder (Choose Folder, then Analyze). Objects with the same GUID, if present, will show up as "doublons." If no doublons show up, you're clean of ID conflicts. If you do get doublons, it means you have an object ID conflict. Double click one of each pair and you can then change the GUID, thereby cleaning up the conflict. After you've made all your changes, run it one more time to make sure it's clean -- lather, rinse, repeat as necessary. "Clean" means no doublons come up at all. (So if you still have problems, at least you know it isn't an object ID conflict!)

For those of you who put your downloads into the UserObjects folder, you will need to temporarily move UserObjects into the Downloads folder, since GUID Checker will only check one folder at a time, and you need to be sure your custom objects don't conflict with the game ones already in Downloads. Just remember to put UserObjects back in GameData when you're done!

wink To prevent future ID conflicts, I highly recommend you run GUID Checker every single time you install new downloads to your game: as soon as you install the downloads, run GUID Checker first to make sure you're clean, then when you are, boot up and enjoy your new goodies!

biggrin

Happy and Safe Mac Simming,

~Yersinia.

smile You're welcome -- but object ID conflict is a problem which is equally possible for both Mac and PC Simmers to have, even though the programs to fix and prevent them obviously differ. I just figured it would be a good idea to have the Mac tool for fixing object ID conflicts readily mentioned in a thread where people with this problem want to know how to deal with it.

When I first started up with downloadaholism (and therefore started tanking my game on a frequent basis!), well, I can't tell you how often I'd find instructions for and get suggestions on how I might clean up my technical messes which were all solely applicable to PC. I kind of had to claw and fight my way to find the information for Mac solutions to various issues. So ever since I finally learned how and "equipped" myself to put out, and then prevent, those fires -- I just started being a "Buttinsky" and shoving in my two simoleons of "If you're on Mac, you need to do it this way instead" -- hoping to save new Mac Simmers from a year of Technical Hell such as I went through!

smile

~Yersinia<----off to Sim again... laugh

Maybe your only problem is skins?
