How would I go about adding "depth" to an object, so that it appears to be 3 dimensional? I've got it shaded rather well, and it looks alright in GIMP, but when I import it back into Tmog, it just looks flat. (Possibly because I drew and shaded the image flat, then skewed it?)

This is a bit more of an art thing, and you have a lot of nice shadows, but you lack highlights.

Try making some areas appear closer by making them catch more light, as opposed to only making everything darker.

(This is why I think you should learn to paint before you learn to draw with pencil.)

Well, it's plenty of highlights, too. On the computer at home, at least. I'm at work right now, and HOO-boy, does that thing look dark.

Remember too that the sims game world is isometric 2D - ie it's a 2 dimensional world where you look down into it at an angle. Thus any object will have upper and side edges as well as a front face.

Someone in another forum suggested clone stamping, and I think I'll try that. I can see where it needs to have "thickness" along the top edge.

no I always miss the obvious, eh?
