The bottom one looks like a rabbit to me, but I don't have any special knowledge in this.

I just chatted with my son on Gmail.. He said they are bunnies.

Rat's and mice are more small.. He said rats and mice are very tiny.

So they are bunnies and he said they have an infection, so throw them away.. I am so sad sad

I don't know how he can tell that from looking at a picture. The bottom one looks perfectly fine to me, but the top one looks deformed on the head. Are they still alive? If so, I wouldn't be too quick to write them off, especially the bottom one. You could call a vet or park ranger to find out if there are any licensed wildlife rehabilitators in your area who could take them and bottle feed them. Their mother probably wouldn't care for them anymore since they were handled by a dog.

Well, I don't know about that. People generally assume animals are happier to abandon their young than they really are--and rabbits are known for only coming to their babies at night, giving the impression that they've ditched their offspring even when they haven't.

And they are definitely bunnies. Baby bunnies look a little like newborn puppies, but the face gives it away, see here for comparison.

If the top one is even alive I'd be shocked, because that's some pretty horrific defect (and it does not look like an infection to me at all, it looks like a birth defect, like Oreocreme said). I agree the bottom one doesn't look bad at all, though, so if momma bunny doesn't come back, looking for a wildlife rehabilitator in your area is not a bad idea.
